Which experience is best for your team?

Synchronous
Synchronous opportunities are ideal for schools who want to engage in a dynamic virtual experience and work alongside a professional development coach in real time. 

By experiencing, reflecting on, and implementing course content together, your team will have the opportunity to increase collaboration, share processes and goals, and develop a stronger sense of community.

Asynchronous
Asynchronous coaching allows your team to move through content at their own pace, while still connecting with a professional development coach who can support their growth. By allowing for a variety of schedules, you can create unique opportunities for school-wide dialogue and collaboration between members of your community who aren't typically able to connect. 

With a mix of instructional talks, generative discussions, and practical, hands-on assignments, asynchronous courses encourage critical reflection and support teachers and leaders as they deepen their practice.

What topics are typically the focus of your online coaching?

Our online coaching is customized to any topic, challenge, or goal of your choosing. With a combination of deep expertise and fierce commitment to K-12 professional development, our team is equipped to support you at any point along your school's professional journey. 

Recent online partnerships have focused on a range of topics, including: student engagement, equity in education, differentiation for ELLs and SWD, blended learning, social-emotional learning, and NYS accountability. 

Will a custom coaching course for my school be private?

Yes, only members of your school community (identified by you) will have access to the course. Your team will retain access to course materials indefinitely, allowing you to revisit content as needed.

What's the difference between public and private online courses?

Our public courses are open to K-12 educators around the world, and offer asynchronous professional development on a range of topics. Each participant receives the same content, whether they sign up as an individual or as part of a team. Public courses are a wonderful option for educators who are looking to participate asynchronously and connect with others outside of their school community. 

In contrast, private courses are designed for teams, schools, and districts, and access is restricted to individuals who are a part of those communities. While private courses can be offered asynchronously, they can also be delivered synchronously, or using a blended model that includes a mix of the two. Each component of a private course is customized, making it an ideal option for schools looking to inspire change within their community. 

Is "blended" coaching a mix of in-person and online coaching?

Our blended online coaching includes a mix of synchronous and asynchronous components, which allows you to engage in a truly customized online experience. There is no in-person component to online coaching, even when using the blended model. 

Do online coaching sessions take place at a specific time and/or in a specific place?

The dates and times of coaching sessions and the release of course content are flexible, based on your needs. 

Does custom coaching require the participation of a whole school?

No! We can customize our coaching to any combination of your school community, including smaller teams. 

If you're an individual looking to further your professional growth, consider participating in one of our public PD opportunities, which will allow you to connect with educators outside of your community. 

Can I request online coaching that doesn't include an online course?

Absolutely! We offer synchronous online coaching, online courses, or a combination of the two — and all of our services are customized to fit your needs. We typically begin with a conversation focused about your needs and/or what problem(s) of practice you may want to address.  We're happy to provide recommendations for which services would be most useful and then make a plan together. 

What's the cost associated with custom courses?
