Acknowledging learning loss
The COVID slide continues. “Students still haven’t regained the academic ground they’ve lost in the disruptions of the ongoing pandemic, and many high school students will continue to struggle after graduation.” This, according to research shared in an Education Week article, three years into the pandemic. The slide feels particularly upsetting, given how hard educators continue to work to play catch up with our students.
Building bridges
It can be incredibly challenging to negotiate the responsibility we feel when it comes to our students’ success, with the reality that there is no simple solution. Though there may not be an easy, one-size-fits-all approach to addressing learning gaps, we can take steps to identify, understand, and implement what students need, allowing you to move forward with your curriculum, without leaving students behind.
Advancing student learning
Across six modules, we'll examine how to build bridges between your instruction and the diverse needs of your classroom. Through an exploration of data-informed instruction, strategic differentiation, project-based learning possibilities, and more, we'll connect the needs of your students to practical applications for your instruction, with the goal of increasing student confidence, engagement, and skills along the way.
