Contextualized practice is incredibly relevant, especially as we move through the pandemic. We've heard from so many teachers how knowing how their students have been learning and living allowed them to adjust their practices and tailor their teaching.

I like to think about contextualized practice the same way that I think about one-size-fits-all clothes. One size does not fit all. It does not fit all in schools, and it does not fit all in professional learning. Every single organization is made up of unique individuals, and those individuals create new patterns and new processes and have their own unique characteristics, culture, and identity. That is why contextualized practice matters.

With contextualized practice, there just isn't anything cookie cutter about the work, because each context is unique. That's why I love to talk about it. We want successful implementation and we look for partnerships where although we conduct the professional development, the goals are co-constructed in a way that best fits the school context.
